Filtration Units

Filter units make it easy and quick to filter liquids of volumes around 100 mL to 1 L. They are often used for sterile filtration of growth media for e.g. cell cultures, which minimizes the risk of contamination in the lab, and especially in the culture itself and therefore in the incubator. Choose between 0.22 µm and 0.45 µm for sterile filtration, or use 0.8 µm for filtration of samples with high amounts of filtrate. After filtration, the top is easily removed, leaving the bottom container/receiver to function as a flask with screw neck and screw lid.

A filter unit only requires a slight vacuum connected to the built-in hose connector. Many are delivered sterile, packed individually, and ready for single use. We have filter units from TPP, JET Biofiltration (BIOFIL), Nalgene, and DURAN – and we have more than is shown on the website.
