Schott articulated arm
The adjustable arm from Schott is a versatile addition to any lighting setup where precise positioning is key. Used together with a stabilizing base, the arm keeps the light securely in place – eliminating the need for manual adjustment.
This is especially important when working with flexible light guides and side light, which cannot stand on their own. By using the arm and base, you ensure consistent illumination from sample to sample, minimizing variations in shadow contrast and improving image quality.
The arm is also ideal when working with microscopes equipped with multiple lenses or when you need to adjust the focus independently of a ring light. In such cases, the arm allows you to position the ring light directly beneath the objective – provided there is enough space between the object and the lens.
Using the same technique, it is also possible to achieve a darkfield-like contrast by placing the ring light close to the sample.
Note: Light guide holders must be purchased separately and are available in various sizes to match your specific light guide.
