Cellulose nitrate / nitrocellulose (CN/NC): Mechanically strong membranes with high flexibility, providing high flow rates. The chemical stability, even membrane structure, and generally low adsorption make the membrane a good choice for trace element analysis. Not recommended for protein applications due to their high levels of protein binding.
