Glass microfiber filters Grade GF/B from Whatman achieve fast filtration and have a high loading capacity. GF/B filters are thicker than GF/A and have a higher wet strength and significantly increased loading capacity. Manufactured without chemical binders from high quality borosilicate glass microfibers. Filtration speeds generally much higher than conventional cellulose paper filters. Efficient separation of micron-sized particles. Ideal for use in flat, perforated Büchner funnels.
Recommended usage:
- Filtration of large volumes.
- Pre-filter for membranes, particularly in conjunction with GF/D.
- Liquid clarification.
- Liquid scintillation techniques where high loading capacity is required.
- Suitable for gravitational or low-suction filtration.
- Usable up to 550 °C.
